This technique is called the “kimura.” It is an arm lock that attacks the shoulder. This is one of the most fundamental techniques in Jiu-Jitsu as well as one of the most effective and, if not released, destructive submissions there is in all martial arts.The kimura can cause injury to three areas – the elbow joint, the shoulder joint, and the upper arm bone (humerus).
